Media Updates & Resources: Virginia Three Case
Nationally renowned civil rights attorney Ben Crump is seeking exoneration for the Virginia Three: Darryl Hunter, Nathaniel Pierce, and Reginald Mann Fletcher. Hunter was only 15 at the time he and two other young men were convicted of murdering a 19-year-old Virgina man in 1994. Hunter is the last of the three men to be granted parole; all of the men have maintained their innocence throughout the years. Key witnesses in the trial have recanted their testimony and maintained that they were coerced and made to give false witness identifications against the three men. With help from Attorney Crump, the three men are seeking exoneration from Virginia Governor Ralph Northam.
