BIRMINGHAM, AL – Nationally renowned civil rights and personal injury attorney Ben Crump of Ben Crump Law and co-counsel Eli Hare of Dicello Levitt will hold a press conference on Wednesday, December 6, to announce the filing of a lawsuit against Pickens County (Alabama), the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office, the Pickens County Jail, and the individual officers who, according to the lawsuit, were involved in torturing former New Orleans Saints football player Glenn Foster Jr., contributing to his death.
Foster, a family man, businessman, and philanthropist, died on December 6, 2021, after being held in police custody. Foster’s parents believe he may have been suffering from a manic episode in the days leading up to, during, and following his arrest. According to his family, Foster had a history of mental health challenges, which they communicated to the Chief of the Reform Police Department. As a result, the family planned to have his brain evaluated for CTE, as many other families of former NFL players have elected to do.
