SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – Nationally renowned civil rights and personal injury attorney Ben Crump and the family of Sonya Massey will address the media tomorrow following the state’s attorney’s release of the autopsy report on the fatal police shooting that killed Massey.
Sangamon County Sheriff’s Deputy Sean Grayson shot Sonya Massey in the face, killing her, on July 6. Massey, a 36-year-old unarmed woman, had called the police to report a suspected intruder in her home.
Grayson has been indicted and charged with first-degree murder, aggravated battery with a firearm, and official misconduct. He is being held in custody without bail.
