KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Nationally renowned civil rights and personal injury attorney Ben Crump has been retained by the family of Daevon Saint-Germain, an 18-year-old high school student who was fatally shot in his home by the Knox County SWAT team on January 3, 2025. According to his family, Daevon was asleep when the raid first occurred.
Officials have failed to confirm whether bodycam footage of the shooting exists, leaving his family searching for answers and accountability. Reportedly, the Knox County Sheriff’s Office does not equip such units with bodycams.
Attorney Crump issued the following statement:
“The family of Daevon Saint-Germain deserves full transparency and justice. A young man’s life was taken, yet officials cannot even confirm whether bodycam footage exists. This lack of accountability erodes public trust and reinforces concerns about unchecked police violence. We demand the immediate release of all available evidence and a full, independent investigation into Daevon’s tragic death.”
