ATLANTA, Ga. (June 15, 2026) –– Nationally renowned civil rights and personal injury attorney Ben Crump will join the family of Amanda “Mandy” Sylvester at a news conference Tuesday. They will announce a lawsuit filed against Grady Memorial Hospital Corporation and Grady EMS over the 15-year-old’s death.
According to the lawsuit, Mandy collapsed while running laps at volleyball practice in College Park on Dec. 5, 2024, and sports center staff called 911 at 6:09 p.m. The complaint alleges Grady EMS, the exclusive ambulance provider for the area, had no ground ambulances available and did not seek mutual aid from other agencies.
