Kamilah Victoria Moore joined Ben Crump Law PLLC, bringing with her a distinguished track record in entertainment law and human rights advocacy. Her legal career is marked by a commitment to justice and equity, evidenced by her significant contributions in both private practice and public service.
Before joining Ben Crump Law PLLC, Kamilah worked as an Associate Attorney at Pierce Law Group LLP in Beverly Hills, specializing in complex production and talent agreements for film and television. Her experience also includes roles at Cowan, DeBaets, Abrahams & Sheppard LLP (CDAS), Funny or Die, Inc., and Loeb & Loeb LLP, where she focused on commercial litigation. This diverse background provides her with a multifaceted perspective that enhances her advocacy for clients.
Kamilah’s academic achievements include a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Columbia Law School, where she was a member of the Columbia Human Rights Law Review and contributed to the Jailhouse Lawyers Manual. She also interned with the NFL, gaining valuable experience in sports and entertainment law. During her time at Columbia, she was honored with the Harlan Fiske Stone Society distinction, the Parker School of Achievement in International and Comparative Law, and the Eric H. Holder Jr. Scholarship awarded by the Black Law Students Association (BLSA). Kamilah earned her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), majoring in Political Science with minors in Education Studies and Film, Television, and Digital Media Studies. As Chair of the Afrikan Student Union at UCLA, she led a successful campaign resulting in the University of California system divesting approximately $30 million from companies operating private prisons, following student opposition to such investments.
She furthered her studies with a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of Amsterdam Law School, where she conducted extensive research on global reparatory justice for people of African descent and wrote her master’s thesis on the topic.
In addition to her legal practice, Kamilah served as Chairperson of the California Reparations Task Force from June 2021 to June 2023. Under her leadership, the task force produced comprehensive reports and recommendations aimed at addressing the historical injustices and systemic discrimination faced by African American descendants of enslaved individuals. Her work in this role has garnered significant media attention, with appearances on NBC, MSNBC, ABC News, and The New York Times, where she has provided insights on civil and human rights, reparations, and legal advocacy.
