Z’Kye was forcefully detained by Bridgewater Township police officers in 2022 after a physical altercation occurred at the Bridgewater Commons Mall. Video shows a white teen and a Black teen in a verbal argument that escalates into a physical altercation. Two police officers approached shortly after the incident turned physical, forcefully pinning Z’Kye to the ground with their arms and legs and handcuffing him, while the white teen was not restrained or detained.
