STAMFORD, Conn. (Jan. 26, 2026) — Today, nationally renowned civil rights attorney Ben Crump announced the launch of DreamFi, a financial empowerment platform designed to expand access to resources that help families strengthen financial stability and work towards long-term financial freedom.
Cofounded by Crump, DreamFi gives members access to financial resources for daily needs and future planning, including:
- A checking account¹ with no minimum balance requirements
- Built-in protections against unexpected financial setbacks, including $5,000 complimentary term life insurance⁴, telehealth access with no copay, up to $1,000 in annual cell phone protection⁵ and 24/7 roadside assistance⁶
- Savings on important monthly expenses7 such as prescriptions and affordable cell phone plans8
- Access to a worldwide network of more than 55,000 surcharge-free ATMs3
The launch comes as millions of Americans continue to rely on costly alternatives to traditional banking, such as check cashing services. In a recent national survey commissioned by DreamFi9, 45% of respondents reported using at least one alternative financial service in the past year, often because those options feel more accessible or familiar than traditional banks.
The same study found that even in higher income brackets, a significant share of Americans report being financially fragile: only 23% of households reported being able to comfortably save money on a monthly basis, including just 37% of households with $100,000- plus incomes9.
“Families deserve tools that help them get ahead, not just get by,” Crump said. “For too long, people in underserved communities have been shut out of the systems that build wealth. DreamFi is here to change that by giving individuals and families a place to learn, plan, save, and protect what matters most.”
DreamFi is led by a seasoned team focused on building a more inclusive financial future, including CEO Don Ross formerly of Bankrate, and executives with previous experience at Mastercard, SoFi, Paypal, Discover, and Capital One. Together, they aim to deliver solutions that make everyday money management more accessible nationwide.
“Families deserve financial education and tools that are clear, accessible and built to support their goals,” Ross said. “DreamFi empowers people to take control of their money and move toward the future they want with security and confidence.”
DreamFi plans to expand its offerings throughout 2026 to support long-term financial success and help members better manage, save and grow.
The DreamFi app is available in the Apple App Store and on Google Play, with access also available via web. Members can receive all of DreamFi’s benefits for $9.99 per month.
