WILMINGTON, Del. (July 1, 2026) — Nationally renowned civil rights and personal injury attorney Ben Crump, attorney Chance Lynch, and attorney Harry M. Daniels will join the family of 19-year-old Kadir Skinner for a news conference to discuss the fatal police shooting that claimed Kadir’s life on June 24.
According to the family, Kadir was shot in the back by a Wilmington police officer as he was running away and later died from his injuries. The family is calling for the full release of the officer’s body-worn camera footage and seeking transparency and accountability as the Delaware Department of Justice continues its investigation into the shooting. The officer involved has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
