SPRINGFIELD, Ill. –– Nationally renowned civil rights and personal injury attorney Ben Crump has issued the following statement regarding the indictment and arrest of Sangamon County Sheriff’s Deputy Sean Grayson. Grayson allegedly shot Sonya Massey in the face, killing her, on July 6. Massey, a 36-year-old unarmed woman, had called the police to report a suspected intruder in her home.
Grayson has been indicted and charged on five counts, including three counts of first-degree murder, aggravated battery with a firearm, and official misconduct.
