MISSION, Kan. (October 3, 2025) – Nationally renowned civil rights and personal injury attorney Ben Crump and attorney Harry Daniels have responded to a newly released affidavit in the death of Charles L. Adair, a 50-year-old detainee who died while in custody at the Wyandotte County Detention Center. Mr. Adair was arrested on July 4, 2025, on traffic-related misdemeanor warrants.
Attorney Crump issued the following statement:
“The newly released affidavit confirms that Charles Adair was handcuffed, lying on his stomach with a severely injured leg, and posed no threat when a deputy pressed a knee into his back, resulting in his death. We will continue advocating for Charles Adair, and his family, demanding full transparency and accountability. Those responsible must be held accountable, and justice must be served.”
