RALEIGH, N.C. Details of Charges and Arrest Warrants
According to arrest warrants filed by the Raleigh Police Department, 30-year-old Ryan James Davey grabbed Cannady’s face and forcibly kissed her without her consent, exposed himself while driving, and unlawfully restrained her.
Davey has been charged with:
- Felony kidnapping
- Misdemeanor sexual battery
- Misdemeanor driving while impaired (DWI)
- Misdemeanor indecent exposure
- Resisting a public officer
- Possessing an open container after consuming alcohol

This assault was allowed to occur due to Lyft’s failure to live up to this responsibility to their passenger, who trusted Lyft to get her home from work safely. The breach of that trust can only be described as outrageous, but also a part of a clear and ongoing problem at Lyft that they have long been aware of, and have failed to properly address. Diamond will have the accountability and the support she deserves as she heals.”
