JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Nationally renowned civil rights and personal injury attorney Ben Crump has been retained by the families of two individuals who tragically lost their lives and an individual critically injured in the catastrophic dock gangway collapse on Sapelo Island, Georgia, on October 19, 2024. The collapse claimed seven lives and left others injured as hundreds gathered for the annual Cultural Day event honoring the Gullah-Geechee community of Black slave descendants. The families and legal team are seeking justice and answers regarding the cause of this preventable disaster.
