HOUSTON, Tex. –– National civil rights and personal injury attorney Ben Crump will join Harris County Sheriff candidate Joe Inocencio to discuss new footage showing the abuse experienced by inmates while in custody in the Harris County Jail. Attorney Crump previously filed a lawsuit on behalf of the families of 20 inmates who lost their lives in custody.
This lawsuit alleges that the inmates were deprived of their constitutional rights and mistreated while being detained. The lawsuit also details Harris County’s persistent culture of maltreatment and lack of concern for the lives of detainees awaiting pre-trial, which ultimately led to the alleged constitutional violations.
