CHICAGO, Ill. –– Nationally renowned civil rights and personal injury attorney Ben Crump and co-counsel from Taxman, Pollock, Murray, & Bekkerman, LLC will hold a news conference to announce the filing of a lawsuit following the tragic death of 28-year-old Chelsea Adolphus, who died from hypothermia after being found on the roof of Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan, Illinois. Despite being at a healthcare facility, Chelsea was discovered seven hours after leaving her room, wearing only a hospital gown, and with a body temperature of just 50 degrees.
Attorney Crump released the following statement:
“Chelsea Adolphus died alone, freezing on the roof of a hospital where she went for help – a place that should have protected her. Instead, she was left to walk through an unsecured door that locked behind her, sealing her fate. This lawsuit is about holding Vista Medical Center accountable for the horrifying negligence that led to Chelsea’s death and ensuring that no other family has to suffer such a preventable tragedy.”
