JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Aug. 21, 2026) — Nationally renowned civil rights and personal injury attorney Ben Crump will join the family of Asia Bennett for her funeral service in Jacksonville. Attorney Crump will deliver the Call to Justice.
Bennett, 22, was shot twice by a Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) officer after officers responded to a domestic call at a home in Jacksonville’s Arlington area. Bennett’s family says she was a domestic violence victim and should have received help, not been killed. Family, friends, and community members will gather to remember Asia and celebrate her life.
