ORLANDO, Fla. –– Nationally renowned civil rights and personal injury attorney Ben Crump will hold a Thursday news conference to demand transparency in the death of Gerald Neal. Neal, an innocent bystander, was struck and killed during a high-speed chase by the Orlando Police Department, reportedly initiated due to an unreadable license plate.
Attorney Crump and Neal’s family will call for the release of dash and body camera footage from the chase and fatal crash. Neal, a 56-year-old widower experiencing homelessness at the time of his death, has family and community members who have raised questions about the necessity and safety of such chases.
