Newport News, VA – Nationally renowned civil rights and personal injury attorney Ben Crump, co-counsel Mark Krudys, and the family of Kaleiah Jones will hold a Thursday news conference to announce the filing of a lawsuit against the Newport News School Board, the City of Newport News, and other individuals named in the complaint.
The lawsuit stems from the tragic death of 16-year-old Kaleiah Jones, who collapsed at Menchville High School and, according to the lawsuit, was largely left without critical medical care for over 16 minutes other than a brief 17-second CPR attempt by a school resource officer. Kaleiah’s family alleges that gross negligence by school officials and staff led to her preventable death.
