KENTWOOD, Mich. –– Nationally renowned civil rights and personal injury attorney Ben Crump will join the family of 25-year-old Samuel Sterling, a Black man who was struck and killed by an unmarked police vehicle, for a Friday news conference to present scathing evidence and demand justice.
After being approached by the police officers at a gas station, Sterling ran away and was chased on foot to a nearby Burger King. He was then struck by a Michigan State Police vehicle, causing him to become severely injured. Sterling was rushed to a hospital and later died from his injuries.
