SENATOBIA, Miss. (June 30, 2026) –– Nationally renowned civil rights and personal injury attorney Ben Crump will join the family of Kohen Wiley at a news conference Wednesday to reveal findings from a forensic review of the entry and exit of the gunshot wound by pathologist Dr. Roger Mitchell.
On June 14, a Senatobia police officer shot and killed 1-year-old Kohen Wiley in the parking lot of a Walmart while responding to an alleged shoplifting call for a box of diapers; Kohen’s mother was holding him in the vehicle at the time. Attorney Crump and the family will also continue to demand the release of all video from police and Walmart.
The family says it is seeking transparency from local authorities and Walmart. Attorney Crump and co-counsel will be joined by community leaders in urging the release of the footage.
