ATLANTA, Ga. — National civil rights and personal injury attorney Ben Crump and the family of Senior Airman Roger Fortson will hold a news conference on Thursday to reveal new evidence in the case. The family will also address how they and Fortson’s dog, Chloe, who was present at the time of the shooting, are doing.
Fortson, a 23-year-old active-duty Senior Airman, was fatally shot by a Florida Sheriff’s Deputy on Friday, May 3. Roger enlisted in the military after graduating from high school with honors and had no criminal record. By all accounts, he was a stellar member of the Air Force and loved by his community.
Note for media attending Thursday’s press conference: Please go to the steeple side of the church (follow the administrative office directional signage) for parking and entrance. The press conference will take place in the multiple purpose room, accessible on the steeple side of the church.
