FT. WALTON BEACH, Fla. — National civil rights and personal injury attorney Ben Crump and the family of Senior Airman Roger Fortson will hold a news conference on Friday to demand that the State Attorney file charges against the officer who shot and killed Fortson in his apartment more than three months ago.
Senior Airman Roger Fortson was fatally shot by a law enforcement officer in his Ft. Walton Beach apartment on May 3, 2024. According to the family and video footage, Fortson complied with the officer’s commands, making the use of deadly force unnecessary. Despite this, no charges have been filed against the officer for Fortson’s death.
